About the competition
The SAE BRASIL AeroDesign competition is a challenge presented to engineering students whose main objective is to promote the dissemination and exchange of aeronautical engineering techniques and knowledge through practical applications and competition between teams.
By participating in the SAE AeroDesign program the student becomes involved with a real case of aeronautical project development, from its conception and detailed design to its construction and tests.
The SAE AeroDesign Competition takes place in the United States since 1986, having been conceived and carried out by SAE International. As of 1999, this competition has also been included in the calendar of student programs at SAE BRASIL, where, throughout its existence, it has visibly become a growing event in terms of quantity and quality of participating projects, a direct response to the technical requirements of the competition rules.
The evolution, present in the current aircrafts compared to the ones before, is considerable not only from the constructive point of view but also in the design methods used, developed with the use of sophisticated tools developed by the teams themselves.
Technical reports
The technical reports have the function of exposing the engineering decisions taken throughout the project together with the technical description of the developed aircraft.
Oral presentation
Through the oral presentation the teams have the responsibility to present in a concise and clear way the technical engineering project carried out.
Flight competition
The flight competition is the pinnacle of AeroDesign, when all the quality of the projects is put to the test in real flight conditions.
